Improving visitor safety and reducing erosion in Buck Gulch
The proposed concepts in Ignacio Valley Preserve would improve visitor experience and accessibility, remove foot traffic from the Arroyo San Jose stream, and enhance sustainability of the trail consistent with the Open Space District’s Road and Trail Management Plan. The installation of pedestrian bridges would allow hikers to safely use the trail during wet weather, reduce erosion and sediment, and improve seasonal habitat for aquatic wildlife.
- The Marin County Open Space District Board approved a contract for Prunuske Chatham, Inc. to conduct CEQA analysis at the September 16, 2025 meeting.
- Improvement concepts were on the Parks and Open Space Commission agenda at the July 17, 2025 meeting.
