Community Feedback On Class 1 e-Bikes
Community Survey
The Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD) is gathering community feedback on a policy proposal that would allow Class 1 e-bikes on fire roads and trails that already allow conventional bikes. Class 1 e-bikes are pedal-assist, no throttle, with a maximum assisted speed of 20 miles per hour.
Complete the online survey by September 1, 2026.
MCOSD will review the community survey results and additional information about Class 1 e-bikes at the The Parks and Open Space Commission regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 17.
Parks and Open Space Commission Presentation
A policy proposal that would affirm the prohibition of class 2 and class 3 e-bikes, and allow class 1 e-bikes, was presented at the Parks and Open Space Commission meeting on May 21, 2026, to open the discussion and begin obtaining feedback on the proposal.
Current MCOSD Code
