5. UPDATE ON CSA 33 ACTIVITIES (INFORMATION ITEM)
Nova Hairston provided a general maintenance update with input and discussion by everyone in the meeting. The irrigation heads are in the process of being replaced with new heads. The existing drinking fountain nearest the Post Office will need to be replaced entirely. Gopher trapping is ongoing and evolving. It’s been observed that one of the corners of one of the checkerboards was broken and needs to be repaired. A new trench needs work near the library.
Jim Chayka proposed the hiring of a design subcontractor to update the Village Green site plans with the new site improvements such as trash receptacles, bike racks, drinking fountains, retaining walls, decomposed granite hardscaping, and anything else that is identified during the planning process. Some pruning is still to be done including the cherry trees.
Commissioner Comments: Lance Meade suggested someone give Michael Knowlton a heads-up before the existing drinking fountains are demolished.
Lance Meade expressed displeasure with the way the top of the redwood tree was trimmed. Topic to be discussed further in next CSA meeting.
