Minutes for Meeting on February 6, 2025

1.    CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 7:01 P.M. by Vice Chair Wittenkeller


2.    PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment at this time.

 

3. APPROVE MINUTES FOR REGULAR MEETING OF SEPT 12, 2024

4. UPDATE ON CURRENT CSA 16 AND PARK DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES (INFORMATION ITEM)
County staff reviewed the ongoing operations and maintenance projects that have occurred since September 12, 2025. All Seasons Tree Care is doing street trees, and it shows that their work is creating healthy trees. Did a big winter pruning project. Corte Morada is done. Sycamore pruning is also occurring. Sir Francis Drake Frontage completed from La Cuesta to El Portal.

Public Comment:  No members of the public came forward.  

Commissioner Comments: Commissioner Wittenkeller commented that there is a retaining wall in the median of Via Chapparro that is leaning into the roadway a few inches. 
 

5.    BUDGET UPDATE AND APPROVE FY 26 BUDGET (ACTION ITEM)
County Staff reviewed the budget revenue and expenditures for FY 2025. Total Expenses Year to Date is $97,899, Total revenue YTD is $188,349. There is still $75,000 set aside by the commission to use for improvements at Manor and La Cuesta entry. There is $58,562 remaining in this fiscal year which, although it is somewhat discretionary, is primarily to be directed towards emergencies and some fuel reduction. .

Commissioner Comments: Commissioner Wittenkeller would like to discuss gravel hardscaping the stretch from El Portal to Bon Air Road on the North side of SFD.
Commissioner David Glenn would be happy to write an email to CSA to 17 and the Central Marin Fire District to partner on fuel reduction on Los Cerros and North Almenar. Did Bretano in the past.

6. ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Commissioner Wittenkeller would like to have a future conversation about raising the revenues. In 2028, it will have been 12 years since the last time this was raised.

Commissioner Peluso agrees that we need an escalator. Perhaps a subcommittee could be made in the future to research this topic and present back to the board.
